Why Bob Sherman Credit Was Built
Like you, I've made a lot of mistakes in spending money. I bought things I didn't need, sometimes expensive things. And, just like you, I came to regret a lot of those purchases.
I had to learn that not everyone always tells the truth. Advertising is often the art of telling people what they want to hear so the advertiser gets what he wants, which is your money. And, frankly, that's a lesson we all need to learn.
Over the years I have since become pretty frugal in my spending. Most of my frugal spending habits are outlined in my free ebook, How to Free Yourself from Credit Card Debt.
But, I know there are many people who really believe the media's emphasis on material possessions. Almost every program you see on TV shows people living well beyond your or my ability. Often, if we put your income and my income together we couldn't live the way we see the stars on TV live.
This desire to live the good life has resulted in a consumer mentality that has crept into ever nook and cranny of society. Nobody with a TV is left out.
People in every social strata are influenced by the "live the good life" mentality. People in our church have declared bankruptcy. Friends have huge burdens of credit card debt. Perhaps even you have allowed too much money to slip through your fingers.
As most people climb the corporate ladder they earn more and more money. They figure that this will always be the case. Every year they get a raise and every few years they get a promotion to a more prestigious and better paying job.
Often they really believe the future will be bright and they will soon make enough money to pull themselves out of their valley of debt. And, next year when they again advance in their careers they buy a bigger home, a fancy new car, and other items to go along with their sumptuous lifestyle. And, instead of paying off their debts, they acquire yet more debt.
But, for most people, the big day when they strike it rich and pay off their debts just never seems to come. And they finally have to face the fact that their debt is just not going away.
Hopefully, before that dreaded day when their debt payments become unmanageable, they will see that the best way out is to change the way they think about their consumerism and manage their money wisely. But, how can they begin to develop habits of wise money management?
That's where BobShermanCredit.com comes in. I hope that the information in my web site will be what it takes to inform, inspire, and motivate everyone to pursue more intelligent money management.
