Debt Free Living

You watch TV and see the actors driving new sports cars and living in huge mansions. This display of wealth encourages your thoughts of getting the same kinds of things you see on TV.

But, unfortunately, you're probably not wealthy enough to simply buy all those beautiful items. You need to spend money you don't have to get all the things you so dearly want.

It's not hard to understand why so many people are so deeply in debt.

You go to the store to buy something and you may hear a store clerk ask, "Would you like to pay for that with your credit card?"

And, you may think that by using your credit card you are actually paying for what you "purchased." But, unless you pay off your credit cards every month, you're really borrowing money you don't have to get want you want.

While there are lots of ways to go into debt, credit cards and payday loans are the biggest risks because their interest rates are so high.

So, how do you live debt free?

The simple answer is discipline.

Discipline comes in many forms:

  • Living within a budget
  • Waiting a while to let the desire for something diminish
  • Talking over your potential purchases with your family
  • Setting priorities on your lifestyle

These and many other tips can help you delay purchases and reduce your spending. By living within your means you can actually begin to save and invest and have a reason to be hopeful about the future.
