For Sale By Owner

For Sale By Owner

Some homeowners decide to sell their homes themselves -- for sale by owner -- in order to save the commission charged by a real estate agent. The commission rate may vary, depending on where you live or what agency you choose, but it is generally upwards of 5%. However, handling your own sale means you will be responsible for placing ads, answering phones and showing your home to strangers. What's more, buyers who know you are saving on an agent's commission may offer less for your home, wiping out the financial incentive to do it all yourself.

Yet, many people do offer their homes " for sale by owner". Their success means that this is a viable method for selling your home.

If you have not gone through the process of selling your home by owner before, you will probably need some assistance. Some areas you need to consider are:

  • Market exposure for your home
  • Competitive pricing of your home
  • Preparing your home to look great
  • Getting legal advise
  • Negotiating an offer on your home
  • Home inspections
  • Closing

There is probably no better source for assistance to " for sale by owner" homeowners that the ForSaveByOwner website at: Buy and Sell Real Estate Without Paying a Broker!
