People make purchasing judgments based on other elements than rational decisions. They buy a new vehicle because they like the emotion it gives them while they step on the gas pedal. They really like the way they feel driving down the road with the top down on a convertible. They like that the car hugs the road when turning. These psychological elements of buying habits play an extensive part in marketing of a product or service. These subconscious characteristics also play a large part in who somebody will buy from. People are more apt to purchase something from somebody they know and trust, even if it is higher priced. This phenomena is based on personal branding. So precisely what is personal branding?
Well to answer that, we need to initially define what "Personal Branding" really is. Most think of YouTube initially. Isn't that where we find nearly all Multi Level Marketers sending their down lines and affiliates? At a minimum the ones endorsing "Personal Branding" as a marketing strategy certainly do. And currently there literally are a dozens of other video hosting web-sites that have made their way into the arena. I think the majority of of you will find that at whatever is hot nowadays in Multi Level Marketing, you will see on these sites.
"Personal Branding" is much more than just YouTube videos. Personal Branding has two other main components not frequently talked about, but what I consider just as essential. The first one is "showing your competencies". If you can't articulate the lingo, appreciate and relate to the problems folks experience, and offer solutions, people will hesitate to continue to find out more about you and your products. You will need to show people that you fully understand them and their challenges, and that you have the knowledge to suggest solutions.
The final component is what I call "Differentiation". What is it that you can offer and can deliver that is distinctive from all the other Joe Shmoes out there? Is it increased value? Is it the way you develop satisfaction? Is it your availability? Is it the frequency? You need to identify this right from the get-go with your company and ingrain it in your marketing strategy.
These are the ingredients that you need in addition to whatever your company provides for your business. To successfully have the ability to recruit, you need to stand out among others. Your uniqueness and your personality will do that. You only have to be yourself. Utilizing the psychology of personal branding can make it easy. Your brand really does not need to attract everybody. Underneath it all, people like to relate to other people. Especially if they are just like them. They understand that no one is perfect so when they see some characteristics that demonstrates that they are similar to them, they are easily attracted. And so we have the three elements of "Personality", "Competency", and "Differentiation" that make up "Personal Branding". Using personal branding with MLM is a must. So be yourself and get out there.
